Marianna Christofides (born 1980 Cyprus, lives and works in Berlin and Nicosia) studied visual and media arts at the Academy of Fine Arts, Athens, the Slade School of Fine Art, London and holds a postgraduate degree from the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne. In 2011 she co-represented Cyprus at the 54th Venice Biennale. International residencies in Istanbul, Paris (LightCone), Los Angeles (Villa Aurora), Stockholm (IASPIS) and London (Gasworks), among others. Her recent solo exhibitions include Temporary Gallery Cologne, Annaelle Gallery, Stockholm, basis Frankfurt, Campagne Première, Berlin and group presentations at GAK Bremen, Akademie der Künste Berlin, waterside contemporary, London, Petach Tikva Museum of Art, Halle 14 Leipzig, 5th Thessaloniki Biennale, Museo Riso Palermo, Benaki Museum Athens, BOZAR Brussels. She is a recipient of numerous awards and grants, including Academy of the Arts of the World Cologne, Hartware Kunstverein Media Artists' Prize, DAAD, Stiftung Kunstfonds, Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral, Jean-Claude Reynal Foundation, Onassis Foundation.
